Encoding Engines
Building a workstation to stream high quality video and audio files.
To stream quality digital media files on the Internet, it is important that you have the right computer equipment.
At NetroMedia, we strongly suggest a dedicated digital production work station. This is simply a computer system with specific software that is used to encode files that can be streamed on the internet.
Minimum requirements
The minimum computer requirement is a dedicated Pentium P4 class Intel 2Ghz PC with a minimum 500MB of RAM for audio and 1GB of RAM for video. Your system should also include high quality (AES/EBU) sound and (SDI) video capture cards and a network card that will be used to connect to your video console or soundboard.
Professional Streaming Systems are designed to meet the needs of professional Internet broadcasters. They allow you to schedule content and encode in Windows Media formats to serve a global audience. These systems eliminate the costs associated with maintaining multiple hardware components. Theses systems are perfect for Radio, TV, Live Web Events, On-Demand Video and Audio, Training, Corporate Communications, Distance Learning and Security Surveillance.
Rack it and forget it.
Embedded audio/video streaming rack servers are capable of streaming high quality video and audio through broadband networks at various stream rates in multiple formats.
ViewCast's line of Osprey capture cards and codecs are the de facto standard in the streaming media industry. They capture, digitize, compress, transmit, receive, decompress and display full-motion video.
Osprey brings professional-level performance to Internet streaming. Osprey has been hailed as the Rolls Royce of the industry by Streaming Media World. By adding a 64-bit PCI-X compatible interface for increased speed and throughput, Osprey has designed a high-performance capture solution for streaming media professionals.
